February 2008 Archives

Every year, without fail, since I have been playing pro hockey, at least one teammate had been traded at the NHL deadline. This year was no exception.

Putting up a fight

Back to back games against any team always are interesting. The game on Sunday against Iowa was a perfect example of how one game's intensity carries over into the next. Right from the drop of the puck in Sunday my defensive partner Boris Valabik was involved in a fight with Iowa's BJ Crombeen, a rematch from Friday night.

Thursday was a travel day. Practice in the morning with a bus ride to Iowa afterward. The day after a loss is
always tough, especially since the night before we lost in overtime.

Back at the practice rink after a day off Sunday. A lot of the guys on the team were pretty sore from the
games last week, especially a rough 4-1 win against Rockford on Saturday night.
