We like her!
A little rehearsed, a little long. I'm docking points for the twang and the reference to Tennessee. But Reese Witherspoon's left eyebrow twitched so nervously throughout her Best Actress acceptance speech that she won me over. I'm going to say that she was the most earnest winner since Sally Field.

The good about last night's Oscars: the opening; Jon Stewart hosting with little sweat; the Mafia group singing a hip-hop song and getting some energy going in the program; Crash win. The only problem with the movie stars today -- and I'm a babyboomer -- is that most of them are forgettable, and frankly I don't think most of them deserve to have their names above the credits. And I don't know if the bigness of Hollywood will ever come back with this bunch of youngsters.

"Dock" Reese Witherspoon because of her "twang" and for mentioning Tennessee? For Christ's sake, what do you expect from a person born in Louisiana (my native state) and raised in Tennessee? Do I detect a little anti-Southern prejudice emanating from the blogger?
