I have learned that the Super Bowl trophy is made by my beloved Tiffany & Co.

I don't know how to feel.

Somehow, I don't think a continue cut was made for one-line paragraphs.

Footblog responds:

My editors feel that the jump makes it easier for you to comment. I'm afraid you may have proved their point.

But does it come in a little blue box?

Wait, I know what is wrong. You're confusing the Super Bowl with one of your old ASD sorrority mixers; Annoya Stupa Girlas

I know, I know....I hit the D instead of the G...I knew I should've stayed at my one comment....I'm outta here

Your editor is wrong about the one-paragraph payoff for a "continue reading" click. The demands of "customer intimacy," which I now know your mission statement demands you seek, require you to use "continue reading" as a way to save space on your main page while still giving readers a good taste of what it is you are saying.
Your Jerome Bettis item is a far better use of "continue reading..." as it has a payoff below the fold, as we say.
Blogmistress Debra got off to a rocky start in this regard but is now in the groove with it. Consult her at all hours for advice.
