Jordan Danks up; Wise to DL with strained hamstring

OAKLAND, Calif. - Jordan Danks has played with his brother John during spring training and has been up and down from the minor leagues with the White Sox, but never has he been on the major league team with John.

That changed Sunday when the Sox put outfielder Dewayne Wise on the 15-day disabled list (retroactive to May 30) with a strained right hamstring and recalled Danks from AAA Charlotte. Danks is in the starting lineup Sunday for the Sox game against the A's (3:05, CSN). Lefty Chris Sale is starting against A's right-hander Jarrod Parker.

Wise, 35, has appeared in two games since May 18. He is hitting .234 with a home run, three RBI and six runs scored.

In nine games with the Sox this season, Danks was 3-for-15 with a home run and two RBI. He is hitting .299 with five home runs, 20 RBI and 25 runs scored over 33 games with Charlotte. He is considered to be one of the best defensive outfielders in the organization.
