MINNEAPOLIS -- Following Wednesday's 12-5 win against the Minnesota Twins, the White Sox parted ways with left-hander Will Ohman.
The Sox will designate the veteran reliever for assignment on Thursday. If he clears waivers, he'll be given his unconditional release. The Sox did not make an announcement and are expected to make a corresponding roster move Thursday.
Ohman pitched the last two innings, allowing three runs on two hits and one walk. He also hit two batters.
In his second season with the Sox, Ohman had a 6.41 ERA. He shook hands with teammates and received well-wishes as the team prepared to leave for New York, where the Sox open a four-game series on Thursday night.
