White Sox pick HS first baseman in compensation round

With the 48th selection in the first-year player draft, the White Sox selected power hitting first baseman Keon Barnum of King high school in Tampa, Fla. on Monday night.

Barnum bats left and throws left. Barnum was selected in Comp Round A -- their compensation for Mark Buehrle's signing with the Florida Marlins.

Sox picked a winner in Keon--great kid with great work habits, insane OPS, great range at 1B.
