LOS ANGELES -- The White Sox altered their pitching probables for the upcoming series against the Cubs at Wrigley Field, inserting Zach Stewart into the rotation to start Monday, pushing Jake Peavy back to Tuesday and Gavin Floyd to Wednesday.
With an off day Thursday, the move gives left-hander Chris Sale six days rest instead of four for his next start. The Sox are monitoring Sale's workload in his first season as a starter. He missed one start in May with a tender elbow. Sale would also get an extra day on a scheduled turn on July 3 following an off day on July 2.
