The White Sox Sunday won a 1-0 walk-off game in the 10th inning against the Milwaukee Brewers as reports said Boston third baseman Kevin Youkilis is on his way to the South Side.
SI.com was reporting that the White Sox were the likely team acquiring Youkilis, with other reports saying the trade involves a pitcher and utility player going to the Red Sox.
Zack Stewart may be the White Sox pitcher involved. Brent Lillibridge may be the other player.
Youkilis, 33, is owed about $7 million on his $12 million salary for 2012.
Youkilis left Sunday's game against Atlanta for a pinch runner after hitting a triple in the seventh, the Fenway Park crowd cheering him as the scoreboard showed highlights of his career.
His brotherScott had been saying through Twitter that Chicago would be a good destination for the veteran infielder, who has lost playing time to rookie Will Middlebrooks.
