Rookie left-hander Jose Quintana will get a third start in place of disabled lefty John Danks when the White Sox host the Blue Jays at U.S. Cellular Field on Wedesday night.
Danks (left shoulder strain) is eligible to come off the list and take his turn, but he remains on the DL and will likely make a minor league rehab start or two before he returns to the Sox rotation. Because Quintana has pitched well and the team is on a hot streak, the Sox might not see no reason to rush Danks back -- their stated goal when they put him on the DL was to have him at full strength for the second half of the season. Danks received a $65 million contract extension over the offseaso and was the Opening Day starter.
Quintana is 1-0 with a 1.69 ERA. He will be opposed by the Jays' Brandon Morrow.
Jays lefty Ricky Romero (6-1, 4.04) will face the Sox' Philip Humber (2-2, 5.37) in the series opener tonight at 7:10.
