Lefty Leyson Septimo fills Ohman's spot

NEW YORK - The White Sox purchased the contract of left-hander Leyson Septimo from Class AAA Charlotte and designated left-handed pitcher Will Ohman for assignment on Thursday.

Septimo, 26, who has no major league experience, is 2-1 with a 1.48 ERA with one save for the Knights. He has held left-handed hitters to an .095 average against him with 16 strikeouts.

Septimo will wear uniform No. 52.

Ohman, 34, went 0-2 with a 6.41 ERA in 32 appearances. He was signed as a free agent on January 10, 2011.
