The White Sox starting rotation suffered another loss on Friday. Right-hander Philip Humber was placed on the 15-day disabled list (retroactive to June 17) with a right elbow flexor strain, and right-handed reliever Brian Bruney's contract was purchased from AAA Charlotte.

Dylan Axelrod will start in Humber's place in the rotation Saturday against the Brewers at U.S. Cellular Field.

The Sox also designated Kosuke Fukudome for assisgnment. He completed his injury rehabilitation assignment at Charlotte and was removed him from the DL, but Jordan Danks will stay on as an extra outfielder.

Bruney, 30, is 1-3 with a 1.85 ERA with 11 saves and 36 strikeouts in 23 games. He pitched five innings in his last outing, allowing one run.

Humber is 3-4 with a 6.01 ERA in 12 starts this season. Left-hander John Danks, the team's Opening Day starter, has been on the DL since May 20.
