ST. LOUIS -- Lance Lynn improved to 10-2, striking out 13 along the way, and Carlos Beltran hit a home run against Jake Peavy in the third inning to give the St. Louis Cardinals a 1-0 victory against the White Sox before 40,045 fans at Busch Stadium on Wednesday night.
The loss stopped the Sox' road winning streak at eight.
The Sox threatened in the ninth against Cards closer Jason Motte. Alejandro De Aza and Dayan Viciedo singled to put runners at first and third, but Paul Konerko hit into a double play to end the game.
