Other news from Day 3
--The Sox-Reds Jermaine Dye rumors were again rumbling around this morning, but have no merit for now.
--According to one scout, the Sox had no meetings planned for today, and were suddenly a very quiet team. Manager Ozzie Guillen has already left Las Vegas, while some Sox personnel are also leaving town on Wednesday. Is it the quiet before the storm? Highly unlikely.
A "recession" team for sure.....after dumping millions in payroll ss, cf, pitcher....couldn't they pick up a free agent CF or 2B with some proven batting skills? Is Konerko and cash not worth a 2 or 3 pitcher to LA or other approved team? Let's hope every unknown develops and all our regulars have career years.....or there is a Plan B acquisition path. Come on Kenny the payroll dumps....deserved as they were... should give you some leeway with Jerry R on acquisitions!
for joe's opening day roster.....isn't there a guy named contreras still on the payroll?
The Dodgers are talking to Texas about Michael Young. The Dodgers just resigned Furcal. That means Young willing to play 2b again.Texas wants a young thirdbaseman for Young. Give Texas, Josh Fields. Trade Pauly to the Angels for Figgins @ 3b. Sign Abreau to play RF, put Dye @ 1B. New infield: Dye,Young, Ramirez, Figgins.
The savings on Pauly will pay for Young.
