Rule No. 1 for Williams in '09

| 7 Comments | No TrackBacks

NEW YORK - Not to sound like Tyler Durden from "Fight Club,'' oh screw it if it gets my point across.
The first rule for Kenny Williams' 2009 offseason is you do not talk to the Kansas City Royals about pitching help. The second rule for Kenny Williams' 2009 offseason is you DO NOT talk to the Kansas City Royals about pitching help.
Let's take a look at what the Royals have given the Sox recently, shall we. [Pick-up puke bags here]
Mike "Freakin'' MacDougal - numbers since joining the Sox after KC - 3-6 with a 4.40 ERA
Andrew Sisco - 0-1 with an 8.36 ERA
Ryan Bukvich - 1-0 with a 5.05 ERA
Octavio Dotel - gets somewhat of a pass because he did stop off in Atlanta last midseason, but is still 4-4 with a 4.06.
Horacio Ramirez - 0-3 with a 7.94 ERA after that lights-out performance on Thursday.
Only D.J. Carrasco has shown an ability to survive the Kansas City curse, and had a 1-0 record with a 3.75 ERA to prove it.
But for the most part, and this is very important Kenny, if a Class AAAA team like the Royals is willing to part with a pitcher, he must really be God awful.

Horatio's FIRST pitch of tonight's game: a single to Bobby Abreu. Unbelievable!

Down here, I had the opportunity to watch the Sox play the Yanks on tv as well as the Twinkies play the Rays on tv Thursday night. Unlike the Ozzie and the Sox, the Twinkies and Gardenhire never quit during the game Thursday night. Should the Sox finish second in a photo finish with the Twinkies, Ozzie and the Sox can look no further than the turn of events from Thursday night to see what was the final straw in this pennant race that broke the camel's back. As my 94 year father told me as a small boy "Winners never quit and quitters never win." Sox fans everywhere are sitting on the edges of their seats. And please, no more trades with K.C. for pitching next off season or any other time.

Rule #2 :
Since Kenny's spent OVAH $100 Million this year on this team, maybe he should be required to spend it more wisely, b/c this isn't cutting it. 'We' haven't spent much differently than the Cubs, and look how good they are.

Hey fans, I think Nancy Faust should play the tune "Kansas City Here I Come" everytime a Sox player doesn't hustle (You remember I always gave 110% on the field). Should also be played when a Sox player:
doesn't lay down a sac bunt when needed
a pitcher is relieved before getting an out.
You guys can help me with the rest... Go Sox!

Rule #3:

Kenny should also remember the Sox hitters make the Royals pitching look better than it is.

Sox Fans-- Good luck to your team this week against the Twins. I look forward to a good series. I'm so glad the Yankees are not in the playoffs because we can never beat them in the playoffs. If we don't make it and you do, good luck. Beat the Angels, Rays, or Bosox. I'd like to see someone from the Central Division go to the World Series. And wouldn't it be cool if it was you guys and your opponent was the CUBS !!! That'd be awesome. I'd pull for you guys to win and keep the crown in the A.L.
