The White Sox announced on Wednesday that closer Bobby Jenks has now been moved to the Class AA Birmingham roster for his rehab assignment, and will pitch this evening.
If all goes well with the soreness in his left scapula area, expect him back in uniform on Friday.
As far as Pablo Ozuna, the infielder cleared waivers and rejected an outright assignment to Class AAA Charlotte. The club then requested waivers on Ozuna for the purposes of granting him his unconditional release.

Ozuna is now officially a ex sox on the waiver wire. Shame on sox! Ozuna certainly a better hitter than at least half the current club. When you have Konerko hitting into dp's on a regular basis ,Swisher popping out ,Thome striking out etc. etc. its nice to have a bat on the bench. Uribe who got a reprieve from Ozuna being cut did go 3 for 5 the other day. But you won't see that often from swing at everything Uribe. Wish Sox well second half. Have a feeling they'll regret not having Ozuna & keeping Uribe instead.
People who say Ozuna is a great hitter don't look at his numbers.
He doesn't have power.
He doesn't walk.
He's average against right-handed hitters.
He also can't field.
He has average speed anymore.
And he can't field.
Did I mention he can't field.
After all, if Ozuna awas so great, he would have never cleared waivers.
Just finised reading Mariotti's July 11th article complimenting the White Sox organization . . . sort of.
I just wish he would give up the old argument of attendance. Obviously the attendance on the South Side hasn't been that bad. They have a higher payroll then the Cubs again this year. No seems to mention that when discussing attendance figures.
