Here’s a quick glance at what’s happening around the American League Central.

Tigers slugger Miguel Cabrera’s walkoff shot against the White Sox has helped raised hopes again in Detroit.

Surgery to remove bone chips from his elbow will sideline Indians catcher Victor Martinez for six to eight weeks.

After the White Sox beat up on them, the Twins traveled to Cleveland, where the beatings continued against the Indians.

Elsewhere around the AL, the Yankees-Red Sox rivalry must take a back seat to the suddenly hot Red Sox-Rays rivalry. Red Sox closer Jonathan Papelbon fires the latest shot in the war.

Check back later for updates.

Another hitting funk! I am getting tired of this. Even though it seems the Sox put up 8 million runs last week, Greg Walker still has to go!

Ozzie is next if he keeps playing Uribe!

After traveling 2200 miles to see Sox looking like frontier league hitters versus the mighty 8.31 ERA Rockies pitcher Delorosa Its time to pull plug on Walker.Whether he is total cause or not he's not doing the job.Boston certainly would be a better fit & Sox seem to hit better while he was on last homestand.Sox 'D" hardly impressive either. Massett & Paulie both mess up on routine plays.Sox continue to waste good pitching. That will continue unless a spark is lit. That spark would be to dump the worse hitting coach in baseball .

I crunched the #'s this weekend. The WSox are on pace to win 90 gms. In gms they've won, they've outperformed the 2005 team by a wide margin. In gms they've lost, they've underperformed the 2005 team. A slight improvement in tough gms can change that.

Barry Bonds? He solves our problem w Thome being weak vs LHers, & unable to get from 1st to 3rd on a single. Bonds has a career avg of 1084OPS in Aug. The WSox won just 9 gms in Aug last yr & have sucked in Aug going back to 2005.
