It’s true: ‘‘Desperate Housewives’’ will flash-forward five years.

Marcia Cross, who plays domestic goddess Bree on the ABC comedy-drama, said in a recent phone interview that a flash-forward narrative device will offer viewers a glimpse into the future lives of the Wisteria Lane gang.

Spoiler alert: Read no further if you don’t want to know what happens to some of the central characters.

Cross said her character makes ‘‘a big leap.’’

‘‘She’s gone out into the world and she’s become a bit of a success,’’ the 46-year-old actress said.

When asked if that success has anything to do with the catering business Bree started with her neighbor Katherine (Dana Delany), Cross replied, ‘‘It does have to do with the business. Bree definitely has made a name for herself.’’

And Bree — the embodiment of preppy style — will change her look.

‘‘Let’s put it this way, the (hair) flip has died and I’m so happy about that,’’ Cross said.

She also revealed that Eva Longoria Parker’s character, Gabrielle, ‘‘has had some children.’’

When asked what becomes of the troublesome Kayla (Rachel Fox), who is Tom’s (Doug Savant) daughter, Cross said, ‘‘She hightails it out of town or is hightailed out of town.’’

The season finale of ‘‘Desperate Housewives’’ airs Sunday.

to richieb945,
yep, I do mean "upset" as in Kristi. And here's why. She is a technically great dancer, and that's key here.. she is a dancer, as well as figure skater. No figure skater, especially at the Olympic level, can do what they do without choreography/dance. They choreograph all their skating routines, and if you pay attention to many of the spins, turns, leaps, backbends that the "Dancing" dancers do in the course of a season, they're exactly what you see in the ice skating competitions.

Kristi is light-years beyond anybody else this season when it comes to executing the dance. I think that gave her an unfair advantage from day one, don't you? The whole point of "Dancing," at least the "Dancing" I watched from season one, was to take celebrities/athletes et al who had two left feet when it came to dancing and turn them into television ballroom champs.

Enough with the folks who have dancing already in their blood (Joey Fatone, Drew Lachey, Mel B, Sabrin Bryan, Mario Lopez) They were all exceptional dancers and deserved the accolades they received, don't get me wrong. I want a season of two-left-footed celebrity oafs who go out there and have a blast and really learn the ropes as the season goes on.

Level the playing field already.

To paraphrase that old show biz saying, never work with animals or children. Invariably those little moppets will steal the scene, and that's what almost happend Tuesday night on the "Dancing with the Stars" semi-finals results show.
While American waited to see which celeb couples would make it on to next week's season finale, three couples, kids ages 10 and under, danced their feet off in the semi-finals of the "Dancing" Junior Championships. One couple, Brandon and Brittany, both 10, completely stunned the ballroom and the judges with their incomparable paso doble. Their unbelievably polished routine put every grown-up couple to shame. The junior champ will be announced next Tuesday.

On the celebrity "Dancing" side, no surprises as Marissa Jaret Winokur was voted off after a disappointing turn in the semi-final dances on Monday ngiht. Kristi Yamaguchi, Jason Taylor and Cristian De La Fuente and all their respective pro partners will square off Monday night in the final night of competition (including the freestyle round). The mirror-ball trophy will be awarded on Tuesday.

Marissa was just the bubbly sparkle this season sorely lacked, and it is sad to see her out of the competition. But she was as effervescent as ever as she graciously thanked her partner Tony Dovilani for all his hard work.
"Go out and do something that makes you feel sexy!," she screamed. And then, shimmying like nobody's business, she topped that with one of the best quips of the season: "Go out and shake what your mama gave you!"

On to the finals next week with Kristi, Cristian and Jason. Here's hoping for an upset.
