I'm headed to LA for the annual Television Critics Association summer press tour, where broadcast and cable network big-wigs and talent give us a glimpse of what's in store for the fall (and ply us with cocktails, I'm told).
I'll be blogging and tweeting the news while I'm there (please follow me @lorirackl if you're not already). Any questions you have about your favorite TV shows? Send 'em my way and I'll do my best to get answers for you.
This weekend will pretty much be devoted to PBS. If all goes right, I can expect to be doing tequila shots with "Downton Abbey's" Lady Crawley a little more than 24 hours from now.
Also on the Saturday agenda: a panel on the new show "Call the Midwife," "Broadway or Bust," a cooking demo from Martha Stewart (who has a new show slated for early October) and (fingers crossed) a one-on-one interview with Kenneth Branagh, star of the British take on the Swedish crime series, "Wallander." Confused? Me too, and I haven't even had a cocktail yet.
A highlight Sunday looks to be a press conference with Ken Burns about his new documentary, "The Dust Bowl."
After PBS it's FOX's turn on Monday, then NBC is up July 24 & 25 and ABC the 26th and 27th (going to visit the set of "Revenge"). That Saturday it's FX and the TCA Awards -- featuring none other than "Breaking Bad's" Bryan Cranston. Sunday, July 29, is CBS and July 30 is the CW and Showtime (hello "Homeland!").
More stuff happens after that but I've got to get back to my Sun-Times office and start cranking out some stories.
So like I said, please feel free to send me your questions, and check the blog frequently for updates on all the TV action. And don't forget to follow me on Twitter @lorirackl. Thanks!
