It's been a busy year -- and it's going to get busier -- in the Windy City when it comes to television.
A number of unscripted shows were or are being filmed here: "Mob Wives Chicago," "Chicagolicious," CBS' new dating show, "3" (debuts Thursday). Bigger-budget projects have been drawn to Chicago, too. You would have thought there was a fire given how quickly the cast of NBC's "Chicago Fire" had to get out of the TV critics' summer press tour in L.A. to fly back to Chicago and start filming episodes.
"Chicago Fire" executive producer Dick Wolf's dramas have played out on the streets on New York for more than 20 years. He told TV critics that it was time to shake things up with his latest venture.
"I wanted the opportunity to show another great city," Wolf said.
"Chicago has been fabulous," he added. "This show would be impossible to produce the way it's being produced without the cooperation of both the city and the fire department."
Fox is filming its new fall drama, "Mob Doctor" in Chicago, too. "Boss" just wrapped its second season, and "Shameless" on Showtime will be back for more.
