Edyta Sliwinska exits the 'Dancing with the Stars' ballroom

| 1 Comment | No TrackBacks

Everyone's favorite uber-tanned professional dancer on "Dancing with the Stars," Edyta Sliwinska will not be returning to the show this -- or possibly any other -- season. The sultry dancer tweeted last night (setting the record straight with, apparently):

"I decided it's time to move on with my life, pursue other projects and finish school. By the way my major is media and communication not dance as TMZ quoted. TMZ terribly misquoted and misinterpreted everything I said. But the truth is that I'm moving on."

And she went on...

"I never said anything about "major disagreement with production" of DWTS. We have different views but that's about it. I'm grateful to the show but my life can't be limited to DWTS. I hope you understand. Please know that you guys, the audience was the best part of the experience."

Don't be too sad. I'm thinking she'll turn up on some reality show, talk show, health and fitness show, or as a judge on so you think you can dance, or a special correspondent for "Good Morning America," and so it goes...

So the 12 new celebs have just been announced, some surprises, some quite expected.

If you missed it.. here ya go:
The ladies:
pop singer Brandy;
actress Jennifer Grey
comedienne Margaret Cho
actress Audrina Patridge
actress Florence ("The Brady Bunch") Henderson
publicity hound Bristol Palin

Over on the men's team:
Michael Bolton (who wasn't available for tonight's live announcement)
The Situation (who also wasn't available for tonight's live announcement); no doubt he was stuck in the spray tan booth.
David "The Hoff" Hasselhoff who said his daughters are huge fans of the show, so he's doing it all for them.
NFL superstar Kurt Warner, also no surprise, as this was a done deal for several weeks already.
The biggest surprise, probably Kyle Massey, the rapper and former child star ("That's So Raven"). I don't think ANYONE predicted he'd be there on line-up announcement night.
NBA champ Rick Fox. Also a newcomer to the rumor mill.

Then the brief question-and-answer session yieled these pearls:

"Soooo unfair...... I'm 50, it's been a lot of years," Jennifer Grey lamented when asked about her "full circle" from "Dirty Dancing" to "Dancing with the Stars."

Bristol Palin was asked if ma Sarah would be visible in the ballroom come the new season (which starts Sept. 20, by the way on ABC at 7 p.m.). The spritely new mom said "I hope so." Ratings cha-ching!!

The men of season 11 of 'Dancing with the Stars'

So in annoying tease-you-cuz-we-can ABC style, here are the male celebs who will compete in season 11 of "Dancing with the Stars"( What could have possibly been more annoying than having to watch "Bachelor Pad" to get the cast??):

Michael Bolton
"The Situation"
David Hasselhoff
Kurt Warner
Kyle Massey
Rick Fox

So the ladies have been announced, to little or no surprise (the men will be announced shortly in ABC annoying fashion):
Brandy --- the pop singer was(was pretty much a done deal last week as all the Internet buzz predicted.
Bristol Palin ---- Alaska's first daughter confirmed it to various sources last week. yawn
Margaret Cho --- The comedienne was a relatively new rumor in the mill the past few days.
Audrina Patridge --- The young actress was also widely rumored for the past month or so to be among the new cast of celebs.
Florence Henderson --- I predicted last week Ma Brady would finally make it to the ballroom this season.
Jennifer Grey --- The "Dirty Dancing" actress was also a relative newcomer to the cast rumor mill. How many weeks will go by before she dances to "I've Had the Time of My Life"? (and is it just me, or is she almost unrecognizable?)

E!Online is reporting that Bristol Palin, David Hasselhoff and Audrina Patridge are confirmed for the new season of "Dancing with the Stars," which premieres Sept. 20 on ABC. The line up is supposed to be super-top secret until it's revealed Monday night during "The Bachelor Pad," but you know how good Hollywood is at keeping secrets.
The website also claims that "Jersey Shore's" The Situation and pop singer Brandy are also a done deal.

Let the games begin.
