So here we are, on the cusp of season 10 of "Dancing with the Stars" (March 22 on ABC) and the rumors are positively on fire in terms of who will be featured this year's stellar lineup of celebrity dancers.
Licking its wounds after last year's dismal ratings (and boring cast), the show is looking to "bigger names" to entice viewers, as well as fewer couples to keep the score card easier to navigate. The most popular consensus in the rumor mill is that Pam "Bay Watch" Anderson, and Kate "Jon and Kate Plus 8 " Gosselin, are definites. Other names being furiously tossed around as possible additions to the mix include actress Jennifer Grey ("Dirty Dancing" no less); Olympian skier Lindsey Vonn; legendary astronaut Eugene "Buzz" Aldrin (at age 70 he's still younger than Cloris Leachman); former Olympic swimming champ Greg Louganis; Kevin "Ex-Mr. Britney Spears" Federline; and TV heartthrob John "Full House" Stamos have also surfaced as possible dancers this season.
Reports swirled all over the Internet that Paula Abdul was polishing her dancing shoes, too, but she has continuously denied she's on the show.
Alas, we'll have to wait till tonight's "Bachelor" megafest to get the full roster of dancers as the names will be announced during the commercial breaks or after the "Final Rose" ends at 10 tonight.
Other changes afoot this season:
Only 12 couples will compete
The first couple will be eliminated after the series' second week show
And of course, Melissa Rycroft joins Tom Bergeron for co-hosting duties. Oh brother.
