"The Jacksons: An American Dream" (8 p.m., VH1): Angela Bassett headlined this 1992 attempt to explain the family. The cast is a dream, at least: Lawrence-Hilton Jacobs (a.k.a. Freddie "Boom Boom" Washington) as Joseph, Holly Robinson Peete as Diana Ross, Terrence Howard as Jackie, Billy Dee Williams as Berry Gordy -- and producer Suzanne de Passe wisely cast Vanessa Williams to play herself.

"Happily Ever Faster" (9:30 p.m., TLC): A lively tour of the Chapel of the Flowers, where Dennis Rodman married Carmen Electra. Because you will probably never see it sober.
