Jerry, 64, and his wife Estella were eliminated from this season's competition early on. But last night he won the $100,000 prize for being the eliminated contestant with the highest percentage of weight loss.
Jerry weighed 369 pounds when he started the show. Last night, he weighed in at 192 pounds, losing 177 pounds and nearly 48 percent of his body weight.
Great job! I wonder if Jerry and Estelle could have imagined at the beginning of their journey what physical aptitude they have currently achieved. It's pretty amazing to watch them at WSC, working out on the elliptical and in spin classes, etc. I know how dedicated to fitness they have been and hope they can strike a great life balance. They truly are an inspiration!
Another contestant, Ron, had gastric bypass surgery several years ago and it did not work. He was still over 400 pounds when the season started. Jerry lost all 177 pounds on his own. He is my inspiration. My mother has just been referred to hospice due to COPD. My husband and I, at 54 and 45, both have high cholesterol and my husband has hypertension. We both have reflux as well. After seeing Jerry on The Biggest Loser, I told my husband, we have no excuse now. Age is not a factor. Thank you Jerry!! You are saving lives.
Great job Jerry!!!! You worked so hard! And NO he didn't have weight loss surgery!
Great job Jerry. You won a whole lot more than money...your life and time with the family.
Is it true he had weight loss surgery, and is that fair to the other contestants? I think not.
Great job Jerry. You give me hope. I'm 62.
