Oprah teams up with Jenny McCarthy

| 4 Comments | No TrackBacks

Chicago's Jenny McCarthy has become Oprah Winfrey's latest teacher's pet, joining an elite club that includes Rachael Ray, Dr. Phil, and that Rosie woman who published a cookbook.

The world saw a different side of natural comedian McCarthy when she went public with her son's autism diagnosis. She believes that Evan, 6, is "recovering" from autism. McCarthy has a blog at Oprah.com, and a talk show is in the works. On the blog, McCarthy calls live-in boyfriend Jim Carrey "my husband" and reports on her battle to give up sugar.

Hey, great news. Nothing complements a flu pandemic quite like kids dying of the measles. Strong work there, big O.

Jenny McCarthy is not the voice of parents with autistic children. She has this wonderful platform that she could be using to actually spread awareness, give facts and actually do some good, but instead of actually giving good information and talking about the diversity of the disorder and talking about acceptance, she's pushing her book and spouting misinformation. Screw Jenny.

My respect for Oprah just disappeared.

Dear Ms. McCathy and Ms Winfrey:

My name is jewellcohen and I live in the San Diego area. We have a very small marketing company that has developed several hundred ideas for TOPICS for Ms. McCathey new talk show. The way we do business when we sell an idea or a campaign or a slogan, is to correspond by FAX under confidentiality. That way you get these awesome ideas; and we get a paycheck. If you see the ideas and don't agree; nobody gets hurt.

Thanks for listening
