Patti Blagojevich won't be the only bawdy Chicago lady braving the jungles of Costa Rica.
Former Second City comics Frances Callier and Angela V. Shelton said late Tuesday that they'll be competing next week on NBC's "I'm a Celebrity ... Get Me Out of Here!"
"We just closed our deal this evening and are leaving first thing in the morning," Callier told the Sun-Times. "We are scared s---less!"
Now based in Los Angeles, the two perform together as the duo Frangela, hosting radio shows there and dishing about pop culture on VH1's "Best Week Ever." They appeared earlier this year in the hit film "He's Just Not That Into You."
Callier also has a recurring role as bodyguard Roxie on "Hannah Montana." Shelton starred in several Second City revues and hosted "The Cheap Show," a short-lived chatfest on WTTW-Channel 11.
On "I'm a Celebrity," contestants begin with nothing and compete in gross and demanding challenges to win food and supplies. Besides Illinois' former first lady, Frangela's rivals will include "The Hills" stars Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt, NBA veteran John Salley, former supermodel Janice Dickinson, "American Idol" singer Sanjaya Malakar, actor Stephen Baldwin and wrestler Torrie Wilson.
The comics are "freaked out, excited, concerned, and terrified," Shelton wrote Tuesday on Facebook.
"I'm a Celebrity" will begin with a live two-hour episode at 7 p.m. Monday on WMAQ-Channel 5.
