Michael (Jason Bateman, right) and Gob (Will Arnett) fight over Marta for the last time in the "Arrested Development" episode "Beef Consomme."

"Arrested Development" fans, take heart. Producer Ron Howard and creator Mitch Hurwitz are allegedly closing deals for a feature film of this critically acclaimed and Emmy-winning but canceled TV comedy.

The cast has been dropping hints -- well, maybe wishes -- about this for more than a year.

Hurwitz, according to the Hollywood Reporter, is on board to write the film as well as direct with help from Howard.

In the final episode, Howard, playing himself, heard the Bluth TV family's pitch of their story and liked it for a movie.

I think Mitch Hurwitz was my biggest concern, But now that he is on board it looks like this movie is a go!

First in line after me you mean. I'll commit to seeing this in the theater and buying in on DVD the day it comes out. I wasn't happy when it was canceled but I give Fox credit for sticking with it as long as they did. They kept it on the air for three seasons despite low ratings. Most networks would have canceled it before the end of the first season.

best sitcom of all time.

I am a huge fan of Arrested Development. This is great news to me!

Perhaps if it's a success they will revive the series!

How exciting and "Arrested" Movie in the works. My husband and I will be first in line to see it. This show should have NEVER been canceled, especially with the talents it held.
