Three words for tonight's results show: What a crock!
There is no way that Cloris Leachman should be on to Week 2 of the competition after her ridiculous turns on the dance floor Monday and Tuesday nights. Yes, she is a bubbly 82 years young, and yes, what an inspiration to millions of seniors (and those of us who can only hope to reach our octogenarian years). But it's pretty safe to say that most folks expected Leachman to get the heave-ho. Alas, her miracle under the mirrored ball meant curtains for one of the other couples. It came down to actor Ted McGinley and singer Toni Braxton. Even head judge Len Goodman was dumbfounded that McGinley and Braxton were the two left standing with only one spot open for next week. In the end, McGinley was outta there, and near tears to boot.
Just shows ta go ya .... fan base rules the voting on "Dancing" and McGinley just didn't have the viewer base to beat out the grand dame.
With an exciting field moving on to week 2, this season is proving to be infinitely more exciting than last. And controversy such as tonight's final vote only adds to the show's steadfast success.
A-list entertainment was courtesy of the hot hot hot Jonas Brothers and the equally sparkling Jesse McCartney. So who still thinks this show is loserville?
