Clooney's leaving his 'ER' scrubs in the closet

Despite pleas from producers and fellow former castmates, George Clooney says he will not reprise his role as Dr. Ross for an appearance during this final season of the hit drama "ER."

In an interview with TV Guide, "ER" executive producer David Zabel said he was "optimistic that we might be able to get [all former cast members]. We have a really good story line for every [major] character from the past to show [the actors] what we want to do."

Cooney's not biting. His publicist says: "He is on record as saying he is not coming back. It is something he has already done. He is busy making movies."
