Jason Bateman's new gig no longer in arrested development

‘‘Arrested Development’’ star Jason Bateman is returning to Fox, this time as a director of the comedy pilot ‘‘The Inn.’’

‘‘Inn’’ is a comedy starring Niecy Nash that is described as ‘‘Upstairs/Downstairs’’ set at a hip New York hotel.

‘‘Inn’’ marks the first pilot directing duties for Bateman, who has directed episodes of comedy series, including the Emmy-winning ‘‘Development.’’

Bateman co-starred in ‘‘Juno’’ and next will be seen in ‘‘Hancock.’’
