Chilean rescue workers get Explora invite

| No Comments | No TrackBacks

Yesterday I posted an item about Chile's Atacama Desert, a place just about everyone on the planet is familiar with now thanks to the mine disaster and subsequent rescue.

I had the chance to visit this part of the world when I stayed at Explora's lodge in Atacama a few years ago. It was one of the most memorable places I've ever been. Gorgeous desert scenery, volcanoes, dunes, impossibly blue skies.

Well, the 17 rescue workers who fished the miners out to safety now have an opportunity to experience Explora's lodge for themselves. The South American-based travel company is inviting them to a 3-day all-inclusive stay at Explora's Atacama lodge. I hope the rescue workers take Explora up on its generous offer. They won't forget it!
