Faith Hill, Kelly Clarkson and Hinder will perform a free concert from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 6. Here's the catch:

As I waited in the Minneapolis airport Sunday night for my (delayed) Northwest Airlines to take off, the gate agent got on the Mr. Microphone and said the flight was over-booked, would anyone care to give up their seat? For $300 towards future travel and a free hotel room that night?

It's no secret that many animal-rights activists are opposed to zoos, and I'm sure there are a fair share of folks who are also put off by my delight in being able to get in the water and pet a dolphin.

On the other hand, some people say the touch tanks and other animal encounters are a way to foster a bond between people and animals. And that bond makes people care more about wildlife -- and more likely to support animal conservation efforts.

Since 1959, Federal Aviation Administration rules have banned commercial pilots from flying once they turn 60 years old.

The Senior Pilots Coalition wants this rule overturned, saying it's not only discriminatory, it's a hurdle to solving the current U.S. airline pilot shortage.

A reader named Jorge is planning on taking his 7 and 5 year old girls to Disneyland (Calif-Anaheim) in April 2008 to celebrate their birthdays.

He's looking for advice on inexpensive, yet quality vacation packages. Has anyone taken such a trip and has come back a satisfied customer? If so, let us know about it by sharing your tip on this blog.

Thanks on behalf of Jorge and his little girls....

Vacation rental homes
