Mary Todd Lincoln: fashionista?

Project Runway finalist Mychael Knight will host a fashion event at the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Museum in Springfield on Saturday, July 28, at 8 p.m. Knight will guide guests through a past-to-present comparison of the trendsetting fashions of Mary Todd Lincoln's day to the modern look of contemporary clothing.

Knight said the former first lady "was quite fashion forward and extremely indulgent when it came to fashion and jewelry. Her dresses were always designed and made to her specifications, regardless of the cost. If she were alive today, she would be my ideal client."

Two ticket options are available:
$75 gets you into the Very Mary VIP Party with Knight at 6 p.m. in the Library Atrium. You'll also get a private tour of the Mary Todd Lincoln: First Lady of Controversy exhibit and preferred seating to the event.

$35 buys you general admission to the 8 p.m. event and viewing of the exhibit after the show.

Tickets can be purchased by calling 217-558-8934 or online at alplm.org.
