This is a safety issue, did you know that cta employees dont have paid sickdays so at any given time at least a third of all the motorman operating the trains has a cold, flu, or even maybe something worse but if they take off for 3 or 4 days to try and rest to get better they are not paid so they have no choice but to come to work sick. The motorman are also a lot time working without a lunch in addition to being sick while operating the trains, you have to at times threaten to sue if they dont allow you to have lunch and most managers support you not getting a lunch. It's only a matter of time before someone is killed from being at work sick , and without lunch. The next time you get on that train for work or your kids get on for school think about that motorman having no sickdays, and probally wasnt allowed to have lunch i addition.
