WASHINGTON--Hollywood is flocking to Washington for the gala WHCA dinner on Saturday, which has developed into quite a spectacle. Pre-dinner festivities are starting tonight, with a series of parties and late-nights thrown by a variety of outlets.

The nickname for the dinner is the ''nerd prom.'' Comic Conan O'Brien, the dinner headliner, was part of the crowd today at a lunch for WHCA scholarship winners at the National Journal/Atlantic offices in the Watergate Complex. O'Brien mingled with students for a nice chunk of time. White House Press Secretary Jay Carney spoke to the students. Fox News Bill O'Reilly was present; he's offering an internship to one of the students, announced WHCA President/Fox News White House correspondent Ed Henry.
