President Obama 'saddened' to hear of teen's death near his Chicago home

WASHINGTON -- Following the shooting death of a teen near his Chicago home, President Barack Obama was "saddened" the White house said that another young victim fell to gun violence and that he "remained committed" to getting gun control laws though Congress.

White House spokeswoman Joanna Rosholm said, "The President and First Lady were saddened to learn of yet another young victim of gun violence in their hometown of Chicago."

"The President remains committed to pressuring Congress to pass common-sense legislation to reduce gun violence."
