WASHINGTON--Even though fund-raising invites were sent out weeks ago--and I reported on this in an April 12 post--the White House on Tuesday announced that President Barack Obama will hit Chicago for fund-raisers to benefit the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee.

My April 12 post, based on invitations for the events...

WASHINGTON--President Barack Obama returns home to Chicago on May 29 for a fund-raiser to benefit the House Democratic political organization. The tab ranges from $1,000 to $50,000 to raise or write. House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi and Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee chief Rep. DCCC Steve Israel will be on hand as well as Democratic members of the llinois Congressional Delegation. The main event is at the Chicago Hilton, 720 S. Michigan, with BettyLu and Paul Saltzman hosting a dinner for the major contributors. BettyLu Saltzman was one of the first major Democratic activists to meet Obama when he was starting out in Chicago politics and see in him a man who could become president.
