Caroline Kennedy to be Japan Ambassador. Hits Naperville, Thursday; Highland Park, Friday

WASHINGTON--Caroline Kennedy is expected to be tapped for an ambassadorship, NBC and ABC News is reporting on Monday--with the daughter of President John F. Kennedy to appear later this week in the Chicago suburbs: Thursday in west suburban Naperville and Friday in north suburban Highland Park.

Kennedy's endorsement of President Barack Obama during his heated Democratic primary in 2008 with Hillary Rodham Clinton was very important at the time; in a column, she compared him to her late father.

ABC News and the Washington Post is reporting that Kennedy will be headed to Japan.

The Friday event at the Highland Park Library, from the library: "Caroline Kennedy, Honorary Chair of National Library Week and author of "Poems to Learn by Heart," will discuss her book. The event includes a performance by Poetry Out Loud. Wine and cheese to follow. Ticketed event. $175 ticket includes signed copy of book and ticket to the library's Saturday, April 27, fundraiser, Librarypalooza."

The Thursday event, according to Anderson's Bookshop: "Caroline Kennedy Ticket Tuesday, April 4 at 7:00 p.m
Pfeiffer Hal on the campus of North Central College 310 E. Benton Ave., Naperville Ticket includes a copy of Poems to Learn by Heart and Admission to the event
