WASHINGTON--Three top Obama White House aides are traveling on a regular basis to campaign headquarters in Chicago to help keep the re-election drive and the administration aligned on message, scheduling and other matters, the Wall Street Journal is reporting on Thursday.
The story, by reporters Peter Nicholas and Carol E. Lee says "Pete Rouse and David Plouffe have been spending about one day a week at the campaign's offices, senior Obama advisers said. Communications Director Dan Pfeiffer made a trip to Chicago this week and is expected to spend about one day a week at the headquarters as the campaign season picks."
This drew a spirited reaction from Republican National Committee spokesman Kirsten Kukowski: "All - you would think with 23 million Americans struggling under our economy, Obama's top White House staff would have more important things to do than babysit his campaign."
