NEW YORK--President Barack Obama hits Chicago again Aug. 12 for another round of high-and-low-dollar fund-raising--pegged to his birthday--with an event set at this South Side home. Obama turns 51 on Aug. 4.
First Lady Michelle Obama sent out an e-mail on Monday about a raffle low dollar donors can enter--as little as a $3 donation--for a spot at an event at the Obama Kenwood home. The campaign has successfully used raffles for dinners with Obama and for entree to fund-raisers at the home of George Clooney and Sarah Jessica Parker.
"Barack's birthday is one of the last opportunities he'll get for a little downtime before the final weeks of the election," Mrs. Obama said in her e-mail.
The Obama campaign plans a series of fund-raising events in Chicago on Aug. 12.
