Schedule for the Week of April 9, 2012
On Monday morning, the President and the First Lady will host the 2012 White House Easter Egg Roll on the South Lawn. The event will feature live music, sports courts, cooking stations, storytelling and, of course, Easter egg rolling. In the afternoon, President Obama will host President Dilma Rousseff of Brazil for meetings at the White House as part of the Leaders' on-going dialogue regarding the growing partnership between the United States and Brazil across a wide range of issues. The Presidents will have the opportunity to follow up on progress made under the three presidential dialogues launched during President Obama's March 2011 visit to Brazil - the Strategic Energy Dialogue, the Economic and Financial Dialogue, and the Global Partnership Dialogue. These meetings will also provide the two Leaders the opportunity to again meet with the U.S.-Brazil CEO Forum and continue efforts to grow commercial, economic, education, and innovation ties between our two countries.
On Tuesday, the President will travel to Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton for an official event on the economy, where he will make the case for the Buffet Rule, a simple principle for fairness that ensures that millionaires pay at least the same effective tax rate as middle class families pay. The President believes in standing up for the middle class and making our tax system fairer, where everyone plays by the same set of rules, in order to ensure the economic security of the middle class. While in Florida, the President will also attend campaign events. He will return to Washington, DC, in the evening.
On Wednesday and Thursday the President will attend meetings at the White House.
On Friday, the President will travel to Cartagena, Colombia, to attend the Summit of the Americas. The President will return to Washington, DC, on Sunday.
