Amy Rule--Rahm's wife--to make first public remarks--at NATO HQ

Amy Rule, wife of Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel, will speak in public in her official role for the first time on Thursday--at NATO headquarters in Brussels to mark the May NATO summit in Chicago.

This is the highest profile yet for Rule--who has tried very hard to stay out of the spotlight since Emanuel became mayor in May, 2011.

Rule is part of a Chicago delegation jetting to Brussels for the opening ceremony of an exhibit about Chicago at NATO headquarters. Gov. Pat Quinn is also going.

from NATO: "The NATO Secretary General, Mr. Anders Fogh Rasmussen, will take part in the opening ceremony of an exhibition at NATO Headquarters celebrating the city of Chicago, on Thursday 22 March 2012.

"10:00 - Opening Remarks by the NATO Secretary General preceeded by Ambassador Ivo Daalder, United States Permanent Representative to NATO.
The Governor of Illinois, Mr. Patrick Joseph Quinn, the spouse of the Mayor of Chicago, Ms. Amy Rule, the President & CEO of the Chicago Convention & Tourism Bureau, Mr. Don Welch, and the Executive Director of the Chicago NATO Host committee, Ms. Lori Healey, will also deliver remarks."
