WEEKEND GUIDANCE AND PRESS SCHEDULE FOR
SATURDAY, JANUARY 14, SUNDAY, JANUARY 15, AND MONDAY, JANUARY 16, 2012


On Saturday and Sunday, the President has no public events scheduled.

On Monday, the First Family will participate in a community service project in the Washington, DC area in celebration of the Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service and in honor of Dr. King's life and legacy. There will be travel pool coverage.

In the evening, the President and the First Lady will attend the Let Freedom Ring Celebration at the Kennedy Center. There will be travel pool coverage.

Schedule for the Week of January 16, 2012

On Tuesday morning, the President will meet with the Council on Jobs and Competitiveness at the White House. In the afternoon, the President will host King Abdullah II of Jordan at the White House. The President looks forward to discussing a broad range of bilateral and regional economic and security issues during their Oval Office meeting, including King Abdullah's leadership in advancing our shared goal of a negotiated peace between Israel and the Palestinians. The President also welcomes the opportunity to underscore the strong bonds of friendship between the United States and Jordan, and to demonstrate support for the political reforms that King Abdullah II is leading to produce a government that is more transparent, inclusive, and responsive to the aspirations of the Jordanian people. Later, the President will welcome the World Series Champion St. Louis Cardinals to the White House to honor the team and their 2011 World Series victory.

On Wednesday, the President will attend meetings at the White House.

On Thursday, the President will travel to Orlando, Florida to deliver remarks on the economy. Later, he will travel to New York City to attend campaign events. He will return to Washington, DC that evening.

On Friday, the President will attend meetings at the White House.
