WASHINGTON--Surging GOP White House hopeful Newt Gingrich will be the man to watch at the Saturday night presidential debate in Des Moines. Gingrich vaulted back from the political dead with the help of strong debate performances, setting up what for now is narrowing to a Gingrich/Mitt Romney contest.
The debate, at Drake University in Des Moines, is at 9 p.m. est and is sponsored by ABC/Yahoo News, ABC5/WOI-DT, The Des Moines Register and Republican Party of Iowa. On the stage will be Gingrich, Romney, Rick Perry, Michele Bachmann, Rick Santorum and Ron Paul.
