Newt counter to negative ad blitz by Mitt Romney allies

New polls show a drop in support for GOP White House hopeful Newt Gingrich, who is being hit with negative ads bankrolled by the camps of Republican rivals. Gingrich, who lacks a mega Super Pac to help him out, is asking for the attack ads to stop and people not to fund them.

From the Gingrich campaign: "Newt will run no attack ads and has asked his supporters not to donate to any 'Super-Pac' running attack ads."
