WASHINGTON--Mayor Rahm Emanuel is featuring noted Chicago chefs at his Friday dinner honoring Republic of Korea President Lee Myung-Bak and his wife, Kim Yoon-Ok. The South Korean leader heads to Chicago from Detroit, where he will be touring a General Motors plant with President Obama, who Thursday night hosted a State Dinner for him at the White House.
Emanuel's dinner for about 150 people will be at Chicago's Cultural Center. The chefs are Graham Elliot, from Graham Elliot and Grahamwich; Paul Kahan from Blackbird and chocolatier Katrina Markoff from Vosges Haut-Chocolat
The entertainment includes R&B star Heather Headley, a Chicagoan, and the Chicago Children's Choir. The choir will perform traditional Korean folk songs.
MAGGIE DALEY FOOTNOTE: I'm told Emanuel called Maggie Daley to invite her greet President Lee at O'Hare at his arrival and she is coming.
Mrs. Daley and former Mayor Richard M. Daley attended the January State Dinner for China's President Hu Jintao, who traveled to Chicago from Washington the next day for a dinner Daley hosted for him that night.
