Rahm Emanuel public schedule Oct. 4, 2011. Police bravery awards

Mayor Rahm Emanuel will join Chicago Police Department Superintendent Garry McCarthy and Chicago Fire Department Commissioner Robert Hoff and deliver brief remarks at the annual Carter H. Harrison and Lambert Tree Awards Ceremony. These are the Departments' highest award for outstanding bravery in the line of duty.

Mayor Emanuel will be joined by Stanley S. Litow, vice president of IBM's Corporate Citizenship and Corporate Affairs and president of the IBM Foundation, as well as Chicago Public Schools CEO Jean-Claude Brizard and City Colleges of Chicago Chancellor Cheryl Hyman, to announce an innovative education initiative that will help Chicago's students excel in school and compete in a 21st century economy.
