Morning * Hampton, Virginia: First Lady Michelle Obama will join President Obama at an event at Joint Base Langley - Eustis in Hampton, Virginia where they will discuss the importance of hiring American veterans. As part of her Joining Forces initiative, the First Lady will announce a major private sector commitment to hire veterans and military spouses. This event is open to pre-credentialed media, but closed to the public. Members of the media who wish to cover this event must RSVP HERE by Tuesday, October 18, 2011 at 12:00PM EDT.

4:00 PM EDT / 3:00 PM CDT * St. Louis, Missouri: First Lady Michelle Obama and Dr. Jill Biden will travel to Game One of the World Series to recognize Major League Baseball's (MLB) outstanding support of America's veterans and military families as part of their Joining Forces initiative. The game will encourage Americans to support Joining Forces and MLB's Welcome Back Veterans program to recognize and serve veterans, service members and their families. Mrs. Obama and Dr. Biden will join representatives from MLB and the St. Louis Cardinals including Hall of Famer and Army veteran Red Schoendienst in hosting a military families appreciation event at the St. Louis Veterans Center. Families attending will be the first to view the new Joining Forces and MLB Public Service Announcement (PSA) that will premiere during Game One featuring Mrs. Obama as well as New York Yankees first baseman Mark Teixeira and Tampa Bay Rays outfielder Johnny Damon, both of whom come from military families. 7:45 PM EDT / 6:45 PM CDT * St. Louis, Missouri: Mrs. Obama and Dr. Biden will participate in a special pre-game ceremony with veterans and military families at Busch Stadium. Game One of the World Series will be broadcast live on FOX starting at 7:30 PM EDT / 6:30 PM CDT. The Joining Forces and MLB Public Service Announcement (PSA) will debut in the ballpark, on MLB.COM and MLB Network featuring Mrs. Obama as well as New York Yankees first baseman Mark Teixeira and Tampa Bay Rays outfielder Johnny Damon, both of whom come from military families.
