Rahm to welcome India's new ambassador Nirupama Rao to Chicago for Executives' Club trade conference

WASHINGTON--Mayor Rahm Emanuel will help kick off a U.S.-India economic conference in Chicago on Sept. 20 sponsored by The Executives' Club and highlighted with a visit by India's new ambassador to the U.S., Nirupama Rao.

Rao presented her credentials to President Obama in a Sept. 9 ceremony.

"The Executives' Club of Chicago is pleased to welcome India's Ministers and new Ambassador to the U.S. and is proud to confirm that they will be speakers. Our membership looks forward to hearing from His Excellency Anand Sharma, Minister of Commerce, Industry & Textiles, His Excellency Sushil Kumar Shinde, Minister of Power, His Excellency Farooq Abdullah, Minister of New & Renewable Energy and Her Excellency Nirupama Rao, Indian Ambassador to the U.S. who will keynote during a full-day of programming covering aviation, manufacturing, power, renewable energy and telecommunications," said Melissa Bean, CEO & President. Bean is a former suburban Chicago congresswoman.


"....The summit is presented in partnership with the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) and in collaboration with The Chicago Council on Global Affairs and The Delhi Committee of Chicago Sister Cities."
