Alice Waters, Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor Monday lunch

WASHINGTON--Chef Alice Waters lunched with Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor at the Supreme Court on Monday, with the famed Berkeley founder of Chez Panisse in town for The Atlantic's food summit.

A Waters spokesman confirmed the lunch when I called to check.

Sotomayor dined at Chez Panisse last February, when she was speaking at the University of California, Berkeley.

Other keynotes in addition to Waters at The Atlantic's food forum include two Chicago natives: Ezekiel Emanuel, Chair of the Clinical Center Department of Bioethics, National Institutes of Health, the former White House health policy advisor who is the brother of Mayor-elect Rahm Emanuel and White House chef Sam Kass, the White House Senior Policy Adviser For Healthy Food Initiatives.
