Mayor Daley in China: Riding high speed rail in Bejing

Mayor Daley is in China this week, checking out a high speed rail train on a 30-minute ride from Bejing to Tianjin. Thanks to NBCChicago for the video and report.

Daley has just a few more weeks in office; Mayor-elect Rahm Emanuel takes office mid-May. Daley is interested in a high speed rail line to O'Hare. But is Rahm? Read the Sun-Times story by Fran Spielman here.

Meanwhile, the Chicago to St. Louis high speed rail project is on track: Sen. Dick Durbin (D-Ill.) et al announced more funding for the project this week. Read my post about it here.
